So far, so good. Jul 02, 2010
I am in charge of maintenance and scheduling for our church vans. I have 3 passenger vans and 1 mini-bus. I bought this to perform small cleaning tasks in between the times I have them professionaly vacuumed. So far, this has performed flawlessly. It's so powerful, however, that I think I blew a fuse in one of the vans - woops! I don't want to be misleading - it's not as powerful as a shop-vac or something larger like that, but it does have a deeper sound than I anticipated, much like a larger vacuum, and it does have sufficient sucking power to do the job. Again, this is NOT a replacement to professional cleaning or the big vacs at the car wash, but for a 12v in-car vacuum, this is one mean dude.
I've read reviews where people mention the hose coming out. Those people are not inserting the hose all the way into the canister. They may also be using the wrong end. I've never had the hose come out.
Also, some people have mentioned the hose is stiff. Yes, it is. But, if you leave it in your hot car for any amount of time it loosens up nicely.
My only complaint is the tiny dust particles that collect on top of the unit after use. These are either statically charged particles that cling to the canister from the air or (more likely) tiny particles that are not trapped by the filter inside the canister. I haven't checked to see if it's removable to clean. If not, I'll just open the top and bang out the filter while it's still attached.
Make sure your car is running while you use this. Otherwise, you're sure to run your battery down.

Great compact vacuum for the price Apr 27, 2010
I just love it.
At first I was sceptical, thinking how good can a 12 Volt vacuum cleaner be? Well, after a few weeks of use I have to say that I am impressed. This unit is well made and finished and comes with several accessories that can become handy. The power cord is long enough so that I could easily reach the back of my extended SUV without using any plugs in the back of the car, just the one in the dash.
When I pushed the switch, I was expecting to hear one of these very high pitch noises, like those made by little fans revolving at very high speeds. Actualy this unit makes a deep low frequency noise, similar to that of much larger units.
The suction was sufficient to pick up dust, dirt and gravel. I also accidentally vacuumed a couple coins, which I could easily recover by opening the body.
The compact size allowed to move relatively freely around the car. The handle was convenient to carry the vacuum cleaner from one place to another within the vehicle. Actualy, most of the time, I found myself holding the handle in my left hand and the tube in my right hand. This unit is light enough so that I would not get tired carrying it around. The body is large enough to store a lot of dirt and debris. It looks like it is about 1 gallon, or about the size of a milk container, just much lighter.
Overal I would recommend this vacuum cleaner to anyone who like a job well done at an affordable price.
