 Great for all around the house Dec 31, 2010

When we first got these towels, we were just using them as bar mops, to wipe the counter tops in the kitchen essentially. After a few weeks, they could be found all around the house. My son who is always working on cars took them to his shop to wrap parts and dry his hands with. I still use them in the kitchen but also to wipe the glass tables, the aquarium, the mirrors in the bathroom, by the barbecue and next to the stove.
The construction is robust and they look much better than the previous rags we had from India. These are made in China, not sure if there is a difference in the cotton but for sure the weave is tighter, which makes for a heavier product. At first they do not absorb as much water as I expected, but after a couple washes, there is a significant improvement in water retention.
I thought that 25 was too many, but in reality I found myself going back to the store to get more as they are so handy and the entire family seem to have found a use for it. My first pack is about 6 months old, and the towels still look like new despite heavy usage. For little more than $1 per towel, this seems like a good deal.

Replaced all my aging kitchen towels and couldn't be more pleased. I use towels only once in the kitchen before washing to avoid contamination so i go through several per day. These are holding up to hot bleach washings nicely. As with any new fabric product puchase, you must wash before use and once you do they will fluff right up to be a highly absorbent cotton towel.

These are perhaps the best deal on kitchen towels in the Amazon catalog. The towels are ribbed unlike most generic cotton towels. For the price, it would be difficult to find a better bargain.

I used these towels to dry dishes, and they leave so much lint behind that I do not want to eat off of the plate. I certainly would not serve a guest from a plate dried with one of these mops. I have used bar mops regularly for years, and I have not seen anything like this.
I have put the towels through the washer and dryer 5 times, and they are still leaving too much lint. Literally handfuls of lint are coming out of the dryer with each cycle.
Sorry, but I cannot recommend these towels.

Received bar towels today. Wife has worked in food industry 30 years using bar towels. These are worse than the worse she ever used. After washing and fluff drying towels are scratchy and absorb very little water before they are completely soaked.
